The Movie That Changed Everything — A Myrtle Beach Memory

The Movie That Changed Everything
A Myrtle Beach Memory
By Rebecca

In 2006, I found employment and moved to Garden City.

On March 9, 2007, I had made plans to go to the movies with a coworker. On my way to Coastal Grand Mall she canceled, but I decided to go anyway. The movie was Wild Hogs.

I got popcorn and a soda and sat down. But before the opening credits ran, the manager came in and asked everyone to move closer together because the theater was sold out.

I moved down and ended up sitting next to a gentleman and a long row of other people. I turned to him and said I would try not to laugh too loudly.

Everyone was laughing throughout the movie.

As I was leaving, I noticed he had left his hat behind. I was able to catch up with him, and we talked all the way out of the theater.

While we were standing outside talking, he asked if he would be too forward in asking for my phone number.

I was flabbergasted.

I had been divorced for 24 years.

That movie led to our first date on March 16… marriage in 2010… and this October we will celebrate 16 years of marriage at the age of 73.

And yes…

We still go to the movies!!!!
